Hello everyone!
I hope everyone is having a swell summer so far and many fun memories are being made this year. Now, I come to you all with some notes that I would like to share with everyone.
Now to start this off we have good and bad news, but I'll start with the good as always.
The Good News
The good news is that I am getting into a new working rhythm and that is great! Recently, I have taken up a new part-time job that encourages me to walk around more, to be more organized, and to be on-top of sudden changes in the demand. With that, I am away from the computer and away from devices for at least four to five hours of my day, which is exactly what I needed. With all the internet drama that was inflated by people relying on technology due to a prolonged lock down, this is a healthy turn over for me. Yes, it is not permanent - this job is just to get my feet wet again with face-to-face interaction - but it is a good start.
However, with that being said I ask again for your patience. I understand I am dreadfully far behind, but keep in mind I juggle with things other than art. I have family to tend to, I have my health to watch due to weight gain, and I have aged devices that will fail on me. I am not glued to my iMac like I used to be... which brings me to this.
The Bad News
The bad news is I REALLY need a new phone... so yeah. The cheapest I can find is in my price range but I need some extra help for getting service and reinstalling everything. Just a little - not too much.
To explain further for those who are new, I have had my iPhone 6S since 2017. So, I am working on a very VERY old phone that has survived so many falls, bumps, a battery change and amateur surgery from yours truly. And now, this phone is developing the habit of shutting off on me without warning. I could be in the middle of a text, email or an internet search, and BAM - dead.
According to one technician, my phone may have a "firmware" issue - which is simply a miscommunication between the phone itself and the battery. This means my phone is not reading the battery percentage correctly and automatically will shut off and demand a charge up before turning back on again. This will cause battery depletion, but it's obvious this bleeds into a simple hardware issue. This also means my phone may be needing a DFU restoration. But again, yours truly is dealing with dated technology - an iMac that is 11 years old, and a tablet that is 9 years old ... you want to get new devices but something comes up - a health issue, your spouse needing a new phone, a new apartment, car fixing - you alone are on hold while everyone needs your help, and because of that I have a habit of putting my issues on the back burner. With that, it's rare for me to ask for help.
So this is me asking for help.
Commissions are going to keep going because of this, but please keep in mind to not expect much communication to be frequent due to my phone choosing when to stay on or shut off. So the extra boost goes a long way.
With that I will give this friendly reminder:
If you have outstanding payments be sure to notify me when they come in. That helps too! Otherwise, if you don't I will have to put your project on hold.
Also, guys if you are not tech savvy, I am not the person to ask for help. Websites and forums have FAQs for that reason.
Now for everything else:
Due to the demand of commission work, "Rose of Sharon" is postponed for updates. I am currently working behind the scenes on the scripts for future chapters. So much is going on we have new characters that will be introduced, more action scenes and the likes of it and so many good plot points that I know you guys will enjoy. I promised not to give away too much but if you wish, you can follow the comic on Patreon where you can see behind the scenes works and much more.
With all of that being said, I hope you guys are more up to speed. If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know!
I hope to hear from you all soon. Please, remember to be wise, be safe out there and treat everyday as a gift!
